Brushing and Flossing
The two biggest and most important reminders Dr. Wang stresses are brushing and flossing with braces.
When you have braces it’s very important to brush and floss after every meal in order to keep your teeth and gums healthy throughout your treatment. If you need help choosing the right toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss, please ask us and we can help you choose the right products for your teeth and your appliance.
Careful and consistent brushing and flossing around hardware during orthodontic treatment will achieve healthy teeth and gums!
How to Brush
- Using a dry brush with a small amount of toothpaste place bristles where gums and teeth meet.
- For 10 seconds on each tooth use circular, vibrating motions around the gum lines.
- Every tooth of both arches should be brushed slowly.
- Brush the lower teeth from gum line up and the upper teeth from the gum line down. Brush the roof of your mouth and your tongue too!
How to Floss
- Carefully thread unwaxed floss between braces and wire. You may find a floss threader helpful.
- Carefully floss around the braces.
- Carefully floss around the gum areas.
- Carefully floss around each tooth.

First off, can we please acknowledge how beautifully designed this place is, I mean it is a very uniquely organized and put together.The staff is amazing, from the moment you walk in to the techs and the doctor, and so on. What grabbed my attention is that on my second visit, because the first visit was just a consultation, but the moment I walked into the building I was greeted by name. I know it may sound strange to others but it's not too often when you go to a place as a new patient and before you even walk to the door they greet you by name, which makes you feel welcomed.My reason for going was to get braces, which I never knew or felt as if I needed it. Being a person who has never had this type of situation before , I mentioned to them that I was kind of nervous and doing this but they made me feel completely comfortable. Every step they made, every tool they use, she explained to me what was being done when doing it. I was so relaxed that I didn't even know that they were done when it was over. I was expecting a long and painful experience, but it wasn't at all.I highly recommend this place to anyone
